Despite <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bjpenn.com\/mma-news\/ufc\/sean-strickland-separated-his-shoulder-days-prior-to-ufc-328-win-i-didnt-want-to-warm-up-and-throw-my-shoulder-out\/\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">separating his shoulder four days before fight night<\/a>, Strickland gutted things out and forced \u201cBorz\u201d into a dogfight. The plan worked, as Strickland is now a two-time UFC Middleweight Champion.<\/p>\n<p>While Strickland\u2019s toughness is one of his biggest strengths inside the Octagon, he figures to be shelved for a bit. He mentioned his busted nose at the time, which wasn\u2019t noted in his X post.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland told reporters that he feels Chimaev should work his way back into title contention. He\u2019d rather face Nassourdine Imavov next. The two collided back in 2023 and the bout was contested at light heavyweight. Strickland won that fight via unanimous decision. Since then, Imavov has gone 5-0, 1 NC.<\/p>\n<p>Strickland has a chance to prove he can successfully defend a UFC title once he is ready to get back to action. His first title reign ended without a successful defense, as he was beaten by Dricus du Plessis.
