Ben Shalom has denied Chris Eubank Jr’s assertion that he is a free agent.<\/p>\n

Eubank Jr took to social media last week to write: \u00a0\u201cJust so we\u2019re all clear, I am a completely FREE agent\u2026 No ties, no promoter, and no limits.\u201d<\/p>\n

The 36-year-old’s statement indicates that the ‘long-term partnership deal’ he inked with Shalom’s BOXXER in July 2024 had expired.<\/p>\n

However, Shalom has since come out and declared that Eubank Jr is still under contract with his promotional outfit.<\/p>\n

“I have a great relationship with Chris,” said Shalom.<\/p>\n

“There’s a lot going on in boxing at the moment. <\/p>\n

“I don’t know the motivation, but he is under contract with Boxxer.<\/p>\n

“That will work itself out privately. There’s [sic] a lot of people in people’s ears saying they’ll cover certain things. <\/p>\n

“All I can say is that we have a contract with him. We have a long-term partnership with Eubank Jr.”<\/p>\n

Chris Eubank Jr’s next fight <\/p>\n

Shalom went on to insist that he would be promoting Eubank Jr’s next fight, which is being tentatively eyed for the back end of the year.<\/p>\n

This turnaround is dependent on Eubank Jr making a full recovery from the ‘underlying health condition’ he suffered in the lead-up to his lopsided defeat to Conor Benn<\/a> in November 2025.<\/p>\n

talkSPORT’s Simon Jordan<\/a> claims the issue, which plagued Eubank Jr in the lead-up to fight night, was to do with his digestion.<\/a><\/p>\n

Eubank Jr was rushed to the hospital in the immediate aftermath of their inaugural encounter seven months prior, with severe dehydration stemming from difficulties with making the 160lbs limit and a subsequent 10lbs rehydration clause.<\/p>\n

The plan is now for Eubank Jr to return to super middleweight (168lbs), with Australia’s Michael Zerafa said to be the frontrunner. <\/p>\n

Zerafa even told Sporting News in March that they had agreed <\/a>upon the framework for a fight.<\/p>\n

“My team and his team, we\u2019re all 100 per cent agreed,” Zerafa told Sporting News.<\/p>\n

“It all comes down to getting the financials, but in saying that, we\u2019ve got A, B and C.<\/p>\n

\u201cIf A falls through, we\u2019ve got B, and C plans backed up.\u201d<\/p>\n
