So, it\u2019s nice to have some familiarity with the grass,\u201d Fox said. <\/p>\n<p class=\"mplxTcLUMibHPxLgQP\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cFrom what I\u2019ve seen, the golf course kind of lets you be aggressive &#8230; but if you\u2019re off the fairway it\u2019s going to be a tough week. The rough\u2019s pretty long, the greens are starting to firm up a little bit even on a Tuesday, and the pin placements I think will be pretty nasty. <\/p>\n<p class=\"mplxTcLUMibHPxLgQP\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cThe greens are going to be the defence of this golf course. I think we might have a little bit of wind as well which is probably going to make it tricky. But yeah, the greens are very severe, very slopey, starting to get pretty quick already. Your approach play\u2019s got to be on this week and for that to be on, you\u2019ve got to drive the ball pretty well too.\u201d <\/p>\n<p class=\"mplxTcLUMibHPxLgQP\" style=\"display:none\">Fox will be one of two Kiwis in the field for the tournament, with <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/golf\/pga-championship-daniel-hillier-joins-ryan-fox-in-field-for-second-golf-major-of-2026\/YFFOJ4CYMRFWDLYV4FPHQGSFWM\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/golf\/pga-championship-daniel-hillier-joins-ryan-fox-in-field-for-second-golf-major-of-2026\/YFFOJ4CYMRFWDLYV4FPHQGSFWM\/\">Daniel Hillier<\/a> also lining up after earning qualification through his world ranking. <\/p>\n<p class=\"mplxTcLUMibHPxLgQP\" style=\"display:none\">The pair played together during practice earlier in the week, and will be on the same side of the draw <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/golf\/ryan-fox-daniel-hillier-get-early-starts-at-pga-championship\/WU7PR2GEHFC2BFJT7NJ3IE4DKI\/\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" title=\"https:\/\/www.nzherald.co.nz\/sport\/golf\/ryan-fox-daniel-hillier-get-early-starts-at-pga-championship\/WU7PR2GEHFC2BFJT7NJ3IE4DKI\/\">with early tee times for their first rounds.<\/a> <\/p>\n<p class=\"mplxTcLUMibHPxLgQP\" style=\"display:none\">\u201cHe\u2019s a good player, a world-class player and it\u2019s a good chance for him to test himself against the best players in the world.
