Channel Ten has reportedly pulled the plug on reality TV series I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here, eleven years after it debuted in Australia.<\/p>\n

Sources confirmed to TV Blackbox on Thursday that the shock decision, made by parent company Paramount, has left ITV in a tizz over where the series will go from here.\u00a0<\/p>\n

According to the outlet, Ten had been looking for ways to cut costs behind the scenes, which is why the network decided to pre-record the entire 12th season rather than film it live.<\/p>\n

However, while it saved money in the long run, the move went down like a lead balloon with fans, particularly when it was revealed that three alternative finales had been filmed, crowning different winners.<\/p>\n

The series – hosted by Robert Irwin and Julia Morris – made a big splash on opening night, drawing 925,000 viewers across the country.<\/p>\n

However, ratings took a turn for the worse as the series progressed, with only 571,000 tuning in for the finale.<\/p>\n

When approached for comment, a representative for Ten denied the axing speculation, adding: \u201cDecisions regarding the 2027 program schedule including I\u2019m A Celebrity\u2026 Get Me Out Of Here! will be made in the coming weeks.\u201d<\/p>\n

Irwin is reportedly being pursued by rival television networks, with industry sources claiming the 22-year-old presenter has become one of the most sought-after stars in Australian television.<\/p>\n

Channel Seven is understood to be interested in securing him for several major entertainment projects, including a hosting role at the 2026 TV WEEK Logie Awards.<\/p>\n

\u201cRobert appeals to multiple demographics and has become incredibly valuable commercially,\u201d one television insider told SkyNews.com.au.<\/p>\n

\u201cHe\u2019s someone networks believe could front several major formats over the next decade.\u201d<\/p>\n

Industry figures claim Seven views Irwin as a natural fit for large-scale family entertainment formats due to his energetic presenting style and popularity with younger audiences.<\/p>\n

The network is also understood to have discussed him internally in relation to future reality and live-event programming.<\/p>\n

And Seven isn’t the only network keeping an eye on the wildlife warrior.<\/p>\n
