A feature film on the life of Amir Hussain Lone, the armless cricketer who captains the Jammu and Kashmir para cricket team, was unveiled on the sidelines of the Cannes Film Festival.

The film will be directed by Nishil Sheth, an Indian writer-director whose debut feature “Bhasmasur” premiered on the international festival circuit and won awards across competition for its filmmaking, its treatment of childhood, and its formal distinctiveness.

Sheth said: “Amir Hussain Lone’s story is not just about cricket or disability; it is about the indomitable human spirit. What moved me most was his refusal to be defined by limitations. Through this film, we hope to bring to audiences a deeply emotional and inspiring journey of courage, dignity and perseverance.”

Lone added: “I never imagined that my life story would one day be told on the big screen. If my journey can inspire even one person to believe in themselves and keep fighting despite difficulties, then I will feel truly grateful. This film is not just my story, but the story of every person who refuses to give up.”

The project is produced by Manjusha Paithankar and Sachin Paithankar of Aarambh Productions, alongside Sameer Dixit and Rishikesh Bhirangi of Pickle Entertainment. M.S. Khan of MRFS Investment Dubai-U.A.E. serves as co-producer, with Yogesh Karikurve as creative producer.

Lone has captained the J&K para cricket team and drawn widespread recognition for his achievements in the sport.

Cricket is the predominant sport in India, which is also the biggest market for the game with its vast population of 1.4 billion.

[564
64,63,45527,314342,740,85
post-670967","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-cricket","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-cannes-film-festival","tag-cannes-film-market","tag-cricket","tag-sports
["GET
