Boston Red Sox<\/a> fans might not want to get their hopes up about landing Mike Trout this summer.<\/p>\n

Local radio host Michael Felger claimed a source told him not to\u00a0be surprised<\/a> if the Red Sox acquired Trout from the Los Angeles Angels. However, another insider suggested the blockbuster remains highly improbable.<\/p>\n

Bleacher Report’s Jon Heyman declared Wednesday that there’s only about a 5 percent chance <\/a>the Angels trade Trout before the Aug. 3 deadline.<\/p>\n

Heyman believes Angels owner Arte Moreno loves Trout and would like the three-time MVP to finish his career there. Furthermore, Heyman isn’t sure the 34-year-old would waive his no-trade clause.<\/p>\n

“I am pretty doubtful that he’d go, so that’s why I’m gonna put a low number on it,” Heyman said. “I wouldn’t rule it out.”<\/p>\n

The Red Sox wouldn’t necessarily be the top destination either. Heyman called it possible that Trout, who is from southern New Jersey, would accept a move to the Philadelphia Phillies.<\/p>\n

Boston also may seem like a curious fit for Trout given the team’s outfield logjam. Yet the offense hasn’t delivered much power in 2026, and the nine-time Silver Slugger has swatted 11 home runs with a .914 OPS in 43 games.<\/p>\n

Trout’s early-season renaissance could give the Angels a window to move an oft-injured veteran who will make roughly $37.1 million annually through 2030. His age and health history would pose a huge risk<\/a> for any team pursuing the future Hall of Famer, and moving Trout would be a tough blow to a downtrodden Angels organization.<\/p>\n
