Four students have been taken to hospital after a suspected drug “overdose” at a Central Coast high school.<\/p>\n

Emergency crews were called to Brisbane Water Secondary College in Umina at about 11am.<\/p>\n

Seven ambulances responded and assessed 15 students, whose ages are yet to be confirmed.<\/p>\n

Four students have been taken to hospital in a stable condition as a precaution.<\/p>\n

“It’s limited information \u2026 but there is a drug overdose,” NSW Ambulance Superintendent Paul Edmonds said.<\/p>\n

Four students were taken to hospital in stable conditions for further assessment.<\/p>\n

Superintendent Edmonds said early intervention by the school helped the students.<\/p>\n

“[The students] were showing effects of drug ingestion and they did the right thing,” Superintendent Edmonds said.<\/p>\n

“[The school] called Triple Zero and we got here very quickly.<\/p>\n

“I think there’s a lot of students that need to explain to their parents what’s happened.”<\/p>\n

Police say the substance has not been identified.<\/p>\n

A NSW Department of Education spokesperson said the school was looking into a concerning incident.<\/p>\n

“Our student\u2019s safety and wellbeing are our highest priorities,” they said in a statement.<\/p>\n
