The Electrical Life of Louis Wain, the 2022 biopic film starring Benedict Cumberbatch and Tobey Jones, is set to find itself a new streaming home in the UK.<\/p>\n

The film follows the titular character as he achieves huge success for his abstract paintings of cats, but suffers some tragic personal losses along the way.<\/p>\n

Interestingly, it has been directed by Will Sharpe, one of the main stars of The White Lotus season 2.<\/p>\n

The film will be aired on Channel 4 this Saturday (17 August) at 10.10pm. After that, it will be available to stream on the Channel 4 service from the early hours of Sunday morning.<\/p>\n

At the time of writing, it isn’t available on any other subscription service.<\/p>\n

In Digital Spy’s own review of the film<\/a>, we called it one of Cumberbatch’s best.<\/p>\n

“The brilliance of the movie, though, is to trick you into thinking you’re watching a quirky biopic before it morphs into something altogether more human and moving,” we wrote.<\/p>\n

“For anybody who’s seen director Will Sharpe’s show Flowers, this blend of tones won’t be a surprise. Like that show, The Electrical Life of Louis Wain knows that even when life is at its most tragic, there can still be humour and the movie will make you laugh as much as you weep.”<\/p>\n

At the end of this month, Cumberbatch and Olivia Colman’s dark comedy<\/a> The Roses is being released in cinemas.<\/p>\n

He’s also got a drama called The Thing with Feathers coming out in November<\/a>, and it looks set to be quite the tear-jerker.<\/p>\n

The Electrical Life of Louis Wain airs on Channel 4 this Saturday, and will be available to stream afterwards.<\/p>\n
