Mrs Sayers has filed a defamation lawsuit against the old Carlton chief.<\/p>\n
Subpoenas have been sent to the AFL, Carlton, league crisis manager Sharon McCrohan, and Mr Sayers\u2019 advisory firm manager, Julie Trainor.<\/p>\n
The court documents state: \u201cFailure to comply with this subpoena without lawful excuse is a contempt of court and may result in your arrest.\u201d<\/p>\n
Mrs Sayers\u2019 legal team want the AFL to submit \u201call written communications (whether on personal or work devices)\u201d between the AFL and \u201cany of its officers and\/or agents (including Stephen Meade), and Luke Sayers, or anyone on his behalf relating or referring to\u201d the image in question \u2014 which was posted on January 8 2025.<\/p>\n
In addition, \u201call corespondance and documents\u201d the AFL has obtained through their investigation into the post and subsequent statements to the press have been requested.<\/p>\n
AFL general manager of corporate affairs McCrohan will have to turn over all correspondence with Mr Sayers stretching back to the day the post went public.<\/p>\n

All of these documents need to be submitted by May 27.<\/p>\n
The case is poised to resume in the Supreme Court on Monday, and Mr Sayers is planning to transfer the case to the family division of the Federal Court \u2014 which would prohibit further reporting.<\/p>\n
This will be opposed by Mrs Sayes who will bid to ensure it remains in the Supreme Court.<\/p>\n
Back in March, sensational reports stated there are sources close to the couple who believe messages showed AFL officials were keen to accept Mr Sayers\u2019 claim that his wife had posted the image.<\/p>\n
