Ronda Rousey and Gina Carano have cleared their final step before their historic Netflix comebacks.<\/p>\n
The two women\u2019s MMA pioneers took the stage Friday evening for the ceremonial weigh-ins at the Intuit Dome Outdoor Plaza in Inglewood, California. Rousey and Carano, in addition to the other 20 fighters on the MVP MMA card<\/a>, squared off for their final face-offs and made their final pre-fight remarks, with Rousey stating definitively that it would be the last weigh-in of her legendary MMA career.<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n After a pre-fight build-up full of love and respect between the two headliners, Friday\u2019s final stare-down brought an element of tension that previous face-offs hadn\u2019t.<\/p>\n \u201cUsually I\u2019m just trying to just skip through this part and get to the end,\u201d Rousey said afterward. \u201cBut man, it\u2019s really cool to be here. Thank you guys for all coming out. This is my very last weigh-in, I\u2019m glad you could all be a part of it, and I can\u2019t wait to kick some ass tomorrow.\u201d<\/p>\n Advertisement<\/p>\n Rousey, 39, and Carano, 44, both successfully made weight<\/a> Friday morning for their women\u2019s featherweight clash. Rousey tipped the scales at 142 pounds for the non-title bout, while Carano came in a tad lighter at 141.4 pounds. Afterward, Carano revealed that she lost 100 pounds<\/a> in the 20 months since the Rousey fight first came onto her radar.<\/p>\n \u201cI got paranoid,\u201d Carano said with a laugh when asked why she tipped the scales so significantly under the bout\u2019s 146-pound limit. \u201cWhat I have to say about that is, never give up, set some goals. I had no idea I could get down to 141. I got lighter than Ronda today, that was pretty cool. So live your dreams, don\u2019t give up on yourself, do the hard thing. That was the hardest thing I\u2019ve ever done, but here I am. And that was the first victory \u2014 I\u2019m going to give you another victory tomorrow night.\u201d<\/p>\n \u201cI wasn\u2019t surprised at all,\u201d Rousey added of Carano\u2019s weight loss. \u201cI believed in her from the very beginning.
