There have been loads of items recalled this week<\/a> for various reasons, with Aussies urged to avoid using the products to protect their health and safety<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Consumer watchdogs, food authorities, and companies have been on the lookout for products that don\u2019t\u00a0meet mandatory standards<\/a>\u00a0or may contain undeclared allergens.<\/p>\n

Many of the items recalled in the last few days have been available for sale<\/a> nationwide at supermarkets, big-name retailers<\/a>, and online marketplaces.<\/p>\n

Refunds are available for most affected products, and\u00a0Yahoo Lifestyle\u00a0has done a wrap-up of the ones you need to know about.<\/p>\n

Common meat product sold at Harris Farm and other stores<\/p>\n

Murray River Smokehouse issued a recall earlier this week for its turkey bacon over an undeclared milk allergen.<\/p>\n

The 150-gram packet of bacon was sold in independent retailers in New South Wales and Victoria, including some Harris Farm stores in Sydney.<\/p>\n

Food Standards Australia and New Zealand (FSANZ) said those intolerant to milk could be harmed by eating this product and suffer a reaction.<\/p>\n

IKEA kitchen gadget recall reminder<\/p>\n

IKEA Australia<\/a> put out a reminder recently about a recall that was issued last year.<\/p>\n

It was for the V\u00c4RDEFULL garlic press, which suffered from a \u201cproduction issue\u201d that could see small pieces break off.<\/p>\n

While it was recalled in June, a notice was published<\/a> on IKEA Australia\u2019s social media pages to remind customers about the dangers the item posed.<\/p>\n

\u201cCustomers who own an affected garlic press should immediately stop using it and contact IKEA for a full refund,\u201d IKEA said.<\/p>\n

\u201cNo receipt or proof of purchase is required. Additionally, IKEA encourages customers to spread the word about this recall, especially if they know that the recalled product was offered, lent or sold to someone else.\u201d<\/p>\n

The Australian recall only affected specific batches of the garlic press device.<\/p>\n

Each item has a date stamp near the IKEA logo on the upper handle. The date stamps included in the recall are 2411 to 2522.<\/p>\n

The Reject Shop pulls kids’ toys from shelves over asbestos issue<\/p>\n

A popular kids\u2019 item sold at<\/a> The Reject Shop<\/a> was recalled over fears it could contain asbestos.<\/p>\n

The Scented Fun Sand<\/a>, available in a variety of colours, had been available across the country until just last week. But the retailer has discovered the product may contain traces of asbestos, which is a prohibited substance in Australia.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe play sand may cause a risk to health, as traces of anthophyllite asbestos and tremolite asbestos have been detected in some samples after laboratory testing,\u201d the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) said.<\/p>\n

Don\u2019t take the product back to The Reject Shop, as you need to dispose of it safely.<\/p>\n

There is information on how to do that from the Asbestos and Silica Safety and Eradication Agency here<\/a>.<\/p>\n

If you show proof of purchase at a Reject Shop, you can get your money back.<\/p>\n

Alternatively, you can contact the chain via email at service@rejectshop.com.au<\/a> and provide your proof of purchase.<\/p>\n

Build-A-Bear toy that could be a choking hazard<\/p>\n

Build-A-Bear Workshop issued an alert about a popular item sold in stores across the country.<\/p>\n

The zipper version of The Heartwarming Hugs Bear 2<\/a> was found to be a choking hazard because the zipper could break off.<\/p>\n

\u201cThis product may not comply with the mandatory standard for toys for children up to and including 36 months of age,\u201d the ACCC said.<\/p>\n

Customers can return the affected bears to any Build-A-Bear Workshop for a full refund.<\/p>\n

People can alternatively get a Build-A-Bear Workshop gift card.<\/p>\n

SHEIN charger could cause \u2018serious injury\u2019<\/p>\n

A USB Type-C device that charges button batteries was recalled by online marketplace SHEIN this week.<\/p>\n

The charger doesn\u2019t comply with mandatory standards as the battery isn\u2019t secured, and it could be ingested by children.<\/p>\n

The product is also missing warning information about the dangers of button batteries.<\/p>\n

\u201cChildren are at risk of choking, severe internal burn injuries or death if they swallow or place button\/coin batteries inside their bodies,\u201d the ACCC said.<\/p>\n

\u201cSerious injury can occur in as little as 2 hours and the results can be fatal. In Australia, children have suffered serious injuries or died from swallowing button\/coin batteries.\u201d<\/p>\n

SHEIN will contact affected consumers by email with a link to confirm disposal of the product and will process a full refund when the email is actioned.<\/p>\n
