AMHERST, Mass.\u00a0–\u00a0The Hunter College women’s tennis team saw its historic season come to a close in the opening round of the NCAA Regionals, falling to Moravian University after entering the tournament on the heels of an undefeated regular season and a second consecutive CUNYAC Championship.<\/p>\n
The Hawks opened the match with momentum in doubles play as the duo of\u00a0Jade Schoenfeld\u00a0and\u00a0Isabella Tchij\u00a0secured a 6-3 victory in the day’s first completed match. Moravian, however, responded by taking the remaining two doubles contests by scores of 6-2 and 6-3 to claim the doubles point.<\/p>\n
The Greyhounds carried that momentum into singles action, winning the first three completed matches in straight sets to secure the 4-0 team victory and end the match before the remaining contests could be completed.<\/p>\n
Despite the loss, Hunter capped off an impressive campaign that included a conference championship and a 12-1 overall record.<\/p>\n
