Garfield Ave. Promising an electrifying lineup of Olympic-style bouts featuring male and female boxers ages 8 and older from all over Southern California, the event is open to the public and free to attend.<\/p>\n<p>Reyes will compete in one of the bouts to promote mental health and wellness among older adults. He joins eight other competitors from the Villa Parke Boxing Program.<\/p>\n<p>The Villa Parke team includes Marvin Gomez, Jessie Kang, Karl Ford, Adriana Nunez, Horacio Rosales, Christopher Cano, Michael Diaz and Quinn Spear.<\/p>\n<p>Boxing coach Fausto De La Torre praised Reyes\u2019 community involvement.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe continues to be a positive influence in our community and a role model for our older adults,\u201d De La Torre said. \u201cHe is a big advocate for mental health.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The amateur boxing event follows Olympic-style competition rules and marks a decade of bringing the sport to downtown Pasadena.<\/p>\n<p>The show takes place adjacent to City Hall in the heart of the Civic Center district.<\/p>\n<p><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/08\/mail-icon.png\n\"\/> Get our daily Pasadena newspaper in your email box.
