Padraig Harrington wants to “have a big day” on Sunday as he shot a superb 67 to remain in touch with the leaders at the US PGA Championship.<\/p>\n

The three-time major winner, 54, matched the best round of the first two days with four birdies on his card as he rolled back the years at Aronimink Golf Club and was four off the clubhouse lead.<\/p>\n

With low scores being racked up on Saturday, including a five-under 65 from Justin Rose, Harrington knows that lead could stretch away from him, but is determined to get out and show he can still mix it with the best.<\/p>\n

“I’d have to wait and see what the leaderboard is at the end of the day,” Harrington, whose last major win came at this championship in 2008, said.<\/p>\n

“I’m still hopeful that I\u2019m only going to be half a dozen shots behind going into tomorrow, have a big day, that\u2019s what I look forward to.<\/p>\n

“I ain\u2019t going out there to play for second, third, fourth, fifth, anything \u2013 I won\u2019t remember it. So I\u2019m hoping I go out there and just fall into the zone tomorrow and it just keeps flowing.”<\/p>\n

Harrington played his third round alongside Norway\u2019s Kristoffer Reitan, last week\u2019s Truist Championship winner, who hit two eagles on the back nine to card a 65 and move to within two of the leaders.<\/p>\n

“Europe is in a very nice place at the moment, isn\u2019t it, some really good players \u2013 told me he follows me, subscribes to me on YouTube, so you know, I\u2019ve helped him out so even better,” Harrington said of Reitan.<\/p>\n

“Making the cut is not a bad thing at my age and, of course, if I could go out there and play well and look like I\u2019m competitive with these young guys, that\u2019s not a bad thing either.<\/p>\n

“I try and expect more but I certainly appreciate the fact that I still go out there and play with these young guys and good young players and I can hold my own.<\/p>\n

“I don\u2019t feel like I\u2019m out there getting in the way.”<\/p>\n
