Delta Goodrem came so close to victory at the 2026 Eurovision Song Contest.<\/p>\n

Despite one of the year\u2019s best performances, Goodrem took Australia to fourth place, only behind Romania, Israel and the winner, Bulgaria \u2013 Dara with \u201cBangaranga\u201d.<\/p>\n

Prior to the public vote, Australia finished in second place at 165 points, only behind Bulgaria on 204 points. Israel, Armenia and Romania were the only three countries of the 35 to give their 12 voting points to Australia.<\/p>\n

Dami Im, who finished second in the competition back in 2016, represented Australia in the voting segment, gifting 12 points to Bulgaria.<\/p>\n

Appearing on a recent episode\u00a0of the Rolling Stone Uncut\u00a0podcast<\/a>, Goodrem discussed representing Australia at the iconic event.<\/p>\n

\u201cTo have everyone come together for an iconic [event]\u2026 where you\u2019ve had ABBA, Celine Dion, Olivia Newton-John, M\u00e5neskin, just phenomenal artists that have been a part of music all these years, for me, in other moments it might not have been right,\u201d she said. \u201cIn this moment, I was like\u2026 what a blessing to be able to have that moment in time to go up there.<\/p>\n

\u201cBut I\u2019m so grateful, and it\u2019s an amazing special moment.\u201d<\/p>\n

Last week, the multi-ARIA Award-winning artist announced her eighth studio album, Pure<\/a>, her first with major label Universal Music after departing Sony Music Australia in 2023.<\/p>\n
