The ride highlighted the company\u2019s support for active mobility and sustainable transport initiatives. | Contributed photo      <\/p>\n<p>The big picture<\/p>\n<p>To kick off its involvement, McDonald\u2019s Philippines hosted \u201cThe Heritage Ride\u201d on April 26, an invitational cycling event attended by officials from McDonald\u2019s Philippines, Metro Pacific Tollways Corporation (MPTC), and other partners.<\/p>\n<p>The ride started from CaSoB\u0113 in the coastal Batangas town of Calatagan and included a feed zone stop at McDonald\u2019s Balayan, another heritage-rich municipality in the province, covering a total distance of 60.4 kilometers.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cActive mobility is an important part of McDonald\u2019s Philippines\u2019 commitment to sustainability, under our Green and Good program,\u201d said\u00a0Margot Torres, managing director of McDonald\u2019s Philippines.\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThrough our support for the prestigious Tour of Luzon, we also hope to shine a light on the benefits of cycling as an environmentally friendly and cost-effective mode of transport, which is especially useful during these challenging times.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>According to a company release, McDonald\u2019s has been expanding sustainability-focused features in select branches nationwide, including Bike &amp; Dine stations that allow cyclists to securely park bikes, rest, and access repair kits while dining.<\/p>\n<p>Why it matters<\/p>\n<p>The company has also intensified its cycling advocacy through \u201cRide the Arches,\u201d a campaign launched in 2023 that encourages bikers to travel from one McDonald\u2019s branch to another, with stores serving as pitstops and feed zones.<\/p>\n<p>The initiative has since become one of McDonald\u2019s more visible community-driven sustainability programs, blending mobility advocacy with customer engagement.<\/p>\n<p>To capitalize on the Tour of Luzon buzz, McDonald\u2019s is rolling out a Luzon-exclusive promo from April 26 to May 31, offering two McCaf\u00e9 Iced Coffee Original 16oz drinks for P89 through the McDo App.<\/p>\n<p>McDonald\u2019s Philippines, led by chair Dr.\u00a0George T.
