Join now and get your first month for just $1<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>During Magic Round, an image circulated on social media showing a meeting between out-of-favour Titans dummy-half Sam Verrills and Bulldogs GM of Football Phil Gould.<\/p>\n<p><img class=\"i-amphtml-fill-content i-amphtml-replaced-content\" decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/1779017096_680_poster-fallback.png\"\/><\/p>\n<p>While the Titans were blindsided by this meeting, <a href=\"https:\/\/www.couriermail.com.au\/sport\/nrl\/meyn-game-billy-slaters-future-as-maroons-origin-coach-not-guaranteed-xerri-in-titans-deal\/news-story\/264d13ce4c46521228456fdee47d11a6\" target=\"_self\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">The Courier-Mail<\/a> reports that the club are open to a player swap with the Bulldogs, which would see them receive centre Bronson Xerri.<\/p>\n<p>In return, Verills, who has already been told he won\u2019t be handed a contract extension with the side, will head the other way.<\/p>\n<p>Although he is contracted at the Bulldogs until the end of 2027 and can\u2019t speak with rivals, Xerri was tipped to leave the club earlier this year &#8211; but decided to remain at Belmore.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt\u2019s been tough,\u201d Xerri said after his return to first grade in April. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBut as long as the boys within the four walls and the staff know my intentions here (then I\u2019m happy). I just wanted to do what\u2019s best for the team and for the club. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cWhatever was reported was out of my control. It\u2019s definitely of interest,\u201d Martin told Code Sports earlier this month. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cBeing part of something new and like, how much they love football, it\u2019s incredible. And obviously Jarome going, it sort of opens the doors for a lot of people. <\/p>\n<p>\u201cI\u2019ve discussed it with my partner and everything.
