JAMES Moffat<\/a> has not completely ruled out the possibility of a start in this year\u2019s Repco Bathurst 1000.<\/p>\n

Moffat, a veteran of 16 Great Race starts, which have netted three podium finishes in 2014, \u201921 and \u201922, was not retained by Tickford Racing after an eight-year stint with the squad, which included drives alongside Chaz Mostert<\/a>, Jack Le Brocq<\/a>, Cameron Waters and Thomas Randle<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Talking on the latest episode of The Undercut, the two-time Supercars race winner noted that he will most likely be watching from home on October 10; however, an option may still be in play.<\/p>\n

\u201cProbably watching the Great Race, which hurts me a little bit to say that I won\u2019t be competing in it, but there are still a few things to unfold that might see a scenario\u2026 I\u2019m not putting a line through it altogether, but it\u2019s unlikely,\u201d Moffat said.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019ll wait and see. A few things would need to seriously come together to see me on the grid, but that\u2019s just how it is.\u201d<\/p>\n

To date, Moffat has not dwelled on being the odd man out from the Supercars co-driver shuffle.<\/p>\n

\u201cI haven\u2019t really thought too much about that, and I think that\u2019s probably maybe because I\u2019m fortunate enough outside of racing, I\u2019m very busy and sort of go, go, go that I haven\u2019t had time to sit down and really reflect on things,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cI\u2019m sure that scenario would be a bit different for me come October 10 if I\u2019m not there up at Bathurst, and I\u2019m forced to turn on the television and watch instead of competing.<\/p>\n

\u201cMaybe there\u2019ll be some different thoughts that go through my mind, but as I said, I haven\u2019t completely put a line through it.<\/p>\n

\u201cSo, a couple of little things that I\u2019m doing in the background that might see a possibility, but apart from that, there\u2019s not really too much to elaborate on.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201cI think I would steer away from that just because I think it\u2019s underrated, the commitment that is needed to be put in by a co-driver, especially because the level is so high,\u201d Moffat said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThat would probably do everybody an injustice if you just got thrown in without any laps.<\/p>\n
