Felix Gall has ridden a great race, but he is ‘expecting to lose time’ in a TT that could see Jonas Vingegaard take control of the Giro.<\/p>\n

Jonas Vingegaard came into the 2026 Giro d’Italia as the red-hot favorite to dominate the GC battle, but after nine stages, the general classification battle remains surprisingly close. The Visma-Lease a Bike leader isn’t in the pink jersey yet as Afonso Eul\u00e1lio of Bahrain Victorious is still clinging to his lead, and perhaps more importantly, Felix Gall of Decathlon-CMA CGM is just 35 seconds down on Vingegaard even after two summit finishes.<\/p>\n

That could be set to change after Monday’s rest day as riders take on the lone time trial of this year’s race on Tuesday’s stage 10.<\/p>\n

“It’s not exactly my strength,” Gall said of the discipline.<\/p>\n

“I was working on it a lot for sure, but I think it’s more about managing it. I’m expecting to lose time on my opponents, but I hope it’s not too much.”<\/p>\n

Indeed, where Gall’s talents as a climber have been on full display the past few days, those skills won’t do much for him on Tuesday. Although those riders who aren’t known for their TT abilities can still thrive on a sufficiently hilly TT course, Tuesday’s stage along the Tyrrhenian coast is not that.<\/p>\n
