Garrick Higgo doesn\u2019t want to know how costly his rules blunder really wound up being<\/a><\/p>\nHiggo was penalised two shots on the opening day at Aronimink for not being on the tee at the proper starting time. In one video shared on ESPN, caddie Austin Gaugert can be seen yelling at Higgo to hurry up before receiving a penalty. The South African ultimately shot a one-under 69 despite receiving the penalty, but faltered in round two to shoot a 76 and miss the cut by one shot.<\/p>\n
Meaning, had he been on time Thursday morning, Higgo would have reached the weekend.<\/p>\n
Not helping matters was a few curious quotes from Higgo explaining what happened, including:<\/p>\n
\u201cNo, I wouldn\u2019t have been late if I knew I was running late.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI was obviously there on time, but late.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cIf you think about it, I was there on time, if you know what I mean.\u201d<\/p>\n
Gaugert was with Higgo when he won the 2025 Corales Puntacana Championship. For this week\u2019s CJ Cup Byron Nelson, Higgo is returning to Nick Cavendish-Pell.
