Lachie Fogarty
18 disposals, eight marks, one goal

‘Fog’ played the majority of the game up forward, playing a very important role for our team system and structure. He continues to use the ball well by foot and he’s an important leader in our program.

13. Blake Acres
34 disposals, eight marks, one goal

Blake had another really strong performance on the wing. He ran hard two ways to support offence and defence, he was an outstanding leader on the day.

16. Ben Camporeale
31 disposals, 12 score involvements, six clearances

Benny had a strong performance in the midfield. He got involved with a lot of our score involvements through winning territory with ball in hand, and he was very strong around stoppages. It’s been a focus for him to get more involved in transition, with his ability to not only be an outstanding stoppage player but also to get the footy in transition – it’s improving.

25. Liam Reidy
16 disposals, 10 clearances, 23 hitouts

He had a good battle with Lachlan Smith in the ruck: hitouts were pretty close, but Liam got on top with his outstanding follow-up and his ability to take the ball forward for us. It was another strong performance from him.

28. Harry Charleson
15 disposals

He’s getting involved more and more in our offensive chains, and his defence continues to improve every week. He’s in good form.

31. Campbell Chesser
19 disposals, three inside 50s

Campbell Chesser started the game as an inside midfielder, before later in the game playing predominantly on the wing. His running patterns to support our offence and defence were really selfless: he continues to improve his ball use by foot.

33. Lewis Young
21 disposals, 10 marks (six contested), 10 intercepts

Lewis had an outstanding game as a key defender. He took a number of intercept marks and either won or halved many one-on-one contests under pressure. His ball use continues to improve every week.

36. Cooper Lord
10 disposals

Unfortunately he came off in the second quarter with concussion after starting the game really strongly, winning ball around stoppages and outnumbering at contests.

37. Jordan Boyd
14 disposals (100 per cent efficiency)

‘Boydy’ played across half-back and gave us drive from an offensive point of view. His ability to compete and fight at contests was again a strength for him.

39. Talor Byrne
13 disposals, three goals

Talor played across half-forward, and his pressure was a real highlight on the day. I thought in the first half especially, he got after the opposition and put them under a lot of pressure. On the back of that, it was good for him to hit the scoreboard and get some reward.

40. Hudson O’Keeffe
Seven disposals, two goals

‘Huddo’ played key forward and second ruck: his ability to get the ball to ground at aerial contests and his aggression around stoppages in the ruck was very good. He continues to develop his game.

41. Matt Duffy
Four disposals

He played less game this week, playing across half-back. He’s learning different aspects of the game, around decision-making in terms of when to defend and when to attack. That’s improving and he’s halving more contests.

43. Ashton Moir
12 disposals, eight marks, four goals

It was great to see Ash back to his best. He kicked four goals, he looked dynamic around our forward line, he was launching at the ball and proved to be a very hard match-up because of his athletic traits. It’s exciting where he’s going with his footy.

46. Matthew Cottrell
17 disposals, four inside 50s, one goal

‘Cotts’ took another step forward, playing predominantly on the wing as well as inside mid. His ability to outnumber at contests and take the ball forward was very good. He was our skipper on the day and I thought he led from the front.

47. Wade Derksen
23 disposals, 15 marks (five contested), 12 intercepts

‘Derks’ had an excellent game: a lot of intercept marks, some big spoils and creating a lot of forward-half turnovers for us on the back of good positioning. In the back half, he also sped up our ball movement, which was a positive. After kicking five last week, it’s a strength for him that he can move from end to end and play forward or back – he’s a team-first guy and we think he’s an AFL player.

VFL Senior Coach Damian Truslove analyses the performances of the 15 AFL-listed Blues who featured for the Carlton…

[560
638,64,63,55,639,85,83
post-680461","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-afl","tag-afl","tag-au","tag-australia","tag-australian-football-league","tag-australianfootballleague","tag-sports","tag-text
["GET
