Chiefs receiver Rashee Rice was taken into police custody on Tuesday after he violated a condition of his probation.<\/p>\n

Dallas County jail records, viewed by The California Post, show Rice was thrown behind bars at 12:25 p.m. after prosecutors alleged he recently tested positive for THC.<\/p>\n

A Dallas County court filing obtained by The Post states Rice has now been ordered to serve 30 days in jail with a scheduled release date of June 16.<\/p>\n

Rice was on probation after he pleaded guilty to two felonies stemming from his role in a high-speed car wreck in March 2024.<\/p>\n

Rice was accused of crashing a 2020 Lamborghini Urus SUV after he drove it on a Dallas highway at speeds of over 100 MPH. Rice allegedly fled the scene shortly after causing the accident.<\/p>\n

In July 2025, Rice issued guilty pleas to one count of racing on a highway causing bodily injury and one count of collision involving serious bodily injury\u00a0and was sentenced to five years probation and ordered to pay restitution to victims that totaled over $114,000.<\/p>\n

\u201cLast March, I was involved in a high-speed accident in Dallas,\u201d Rice said shortly after he issued the guilty pleas. \u201cThere have been a lot of sleepless nights thinking about the damages that my actions caused, and I will continue working within my means to make sure that everyone impacted will be made whole.<\/p>\n

\u201cI urge everyone to mind the speed limit, drive safe and drive smart. Last and certainly not least, I am profoundly sorry for the physical damages to person and property. I fully apologize for the harm I caused to innocent drivers and their families.\u201d<\/p>\n

The NFL ended up levying a six-game suspension on Rice over the incident.<\/p>\n

Rice will now miss the Chiefs\u2019 mandatory OTA mini-camp in June. It is unclear if the team or league will take further action.<\/p>\n
