A \u2018Pendleship\u2019 might be one of the last ways to secure a seat to Collingwood legend Scott Pendlebury\u2019s record-breaking match as details around a unique piece of memorabilia emerged.<\/p>\n
A crowd of at least 88,000 is now expected to attend the Magpies-Eagles game on Saturday at the MCG, which will see Pendlebury play his 433rd AFL match to break the league\u2019s games record. Only standing room tickets remain on sale through official outlets.<\/p>\n
But the Magpies this week have established a \u2018Pendleship\u2019 that could help patrons secure a seat.<\/p>\n
Priced at, coincidentally, $43.30 \u2013 $33.70 cheaper than what it\u2019s usually priced at \u2013 the membership package buys you a general admission ticket to Saturday\u2019s match on Level 4 of the Shane Warne Stand, as well as a member pack featuring a scarf, key ring and stickers, plus 10 per cent off merchandise at the club shop.<\/p>\n

\u201cIt is one of the only ways to get yourself in the gate,\u201d CODE Sports reporter Lauren Wood said on Fox Footy\u2019s Midweek Tackle.<\/p>\n
\u201cCollingwood are really keen to stress this is very separate to the testimonial and memorabilia side of things \u2013 even though this membership does bare Scott\u2019s name \u2013 as this isn\u2019t one of those things he\u2019s going to be earning funds.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wood also detailed a quirky piece of memorabilia, featuring a replica game jumper and \u201ca piece of the match ball\u201d that\u2019ll be available post-game.<\/p>\n
\u201cThere\u2019s so much talk about the funds he\u2019ll be getting from memorabilia and the likes \u2013 and I tell you what the fight is well and truly on for every piece of that memorabilia,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThere\u2019s pieces available for $1500 that I\u2019ll include a piece of the match ball \u2026 a 3cm x 3cm piece of leather \u2013 which was so highly sought after at Collingwood training (on Tuesday). I had a few spies down there on Olympic Boulevard and someone tried to steal one today \u2013 and it was noticed by none other than Scott Pendlebury. He noticed it in this guy\u2019s bag, (a ball) had been kicked over the fence at training.<\/p>\n
\u201cThat just goes to show the fight is on for any piece that people can get from this week.\u201d<\/p>\n

Hawthorn star Will Day will play managed minutes in the VFL on Friday and could return to the senior side as soon as next week.<\/p>\n
The luckless Hawk has not played in 2026 after sustaining a shoulder injury during the pre-season.<\/p>\n
That latest setback followed an injury-plagued 2025 campaign (foot) and a season-ending collarbone problem the previous year.<\/p>\n
Day integrated back into main training a fortnight ago and has proven his case for a long-awaited return.<\/p>\n
Speaking on Fox Footy\u2019s AFL 360 on Tuesday night, Day said he expected to play \u201cabout 60 per cent game time\u201d and would start on the bench every quarter.<\/p>\n

\u201cVery excited. It\u2019s felt like a long time coming and I just want Friday to hurry up and come around,\u201d Day told Fox Footy\u2019s AFL 360.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ll play Friday and see how the body goes, but we think I\u2019m at a stage where I\u2019ve had had some good fitness, had some good full trainings. Get through this one and we\u2019ll see what happens from there.<\/p>\n
\u201cStart on the bench, which will be a bit frustrating \u2013 the competitiveness in me will be hurting being on the bench \u2013 but obviously know there\u2019s a grand plan. I\u2019m just looking forward to having fun.\u201d<\/p>\n
Day said the shoulder injury could be \u201ca bit of a blessing in disguise\u201d.<\/p>\n

\u201cAs annoying and frustrating as it was, I think coming back now, it was able to give the foot the time that it needed and we were able to do so many extra things in the rehab for that as well,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Hawks coach Sam Mitchell said Day would be \u201ccarefully managed\u201d but added it was a \u201cpretty exciting\u201d prospect for Day, the Hawks and Hawthorn fans.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen he gets back, stay back. That\u2019s the aim, it could be as early as next week or it could be longer than that,\u201d Mitchell told reporters.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe\u2019s obviously coming back from a shoulder which means he\u2019s fitter, you can get a lot more physical work in, your physical profile, they can work pretty hard.<\/p>\n
\u201cSo he\u2019s going to be ready for AFL footy at a high level straight away.
