Melbourne legend Garry Lyon said the AFL made the right call<\/a> to leave Tasmania a \u2018Devils only\u2019 domain, declaring Hawthorn was \u201conly ever the tenant\u201d in Launceston.<\/p>\n\u201cThis is a no-brainer \u2013 this is Tasmanian! This is a Tasmanian footy team \u2013 not a half-Hawthorn footy team,\u201d Lyon told AFL 360.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey\u2019ve had a great run at it \u2013 we thank them for it \u2013 now get out! And let Tassie get in.\u201d<\/p>\n
Co-host Gerard Whateley said the decision to kick Hawthorn out of hosting Tasmania games had to be based on \u201cwhat\u2019s best for the code\u201d and to give the Devils \u201cevery conceivable chance\u201d to succeed.<\/p>\n
Midweek Tackle host Lauren Wood added: \u201cNot to push their barrow for them (the Devils), but I think they would argue they need this clean slate. This is a club that\u2019s been up against it with stadium, the fight to even get a team.<\/p>\n
