{"id":682555,"date":"2026-05-20T08:02:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-20T08:02:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/682555\/"},"modified":"2026-05-20T08:02:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-20T08:02:10","slug":"shiv-kapur-to-launch-landmark-new-par-3-golf-course-in-india","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/682555\/","title":{"rendered":"Shiv Kapur to launch landmark new par-3 golf course in India"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Shiv Kapur is set to bring a groundbreaking new golfing concept to India with the launch of Emgee Greens \u2014 an innovative par-3 course in the mountainous region of Lonavala, just outside Mumbai.<\/p>\n<p>Developed in partnership with <a style=\"color: #ff6600;\" href=\"https:\/\/www.instagram.com\/reel\/DYUSZI1j_Xn\/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Himalayas Golf<\/a>, the project aims to recreate and celebrate some of the most iconic par-3 holes in world golf within a single destination \u2014 a concept that organisers believe will be unlike anything previously seen in India.<\/p>\n<p><img fetchpriority=\"high\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-40635\" class=\"wp-image-40635 size-full\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/TPC-Sawgrass17th.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"493\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-40635\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">17th Hole TPC Sawgrass<\/p>\n<p>Among the legendary holes set to inspire the course design are the iconic 17th at TPC Sawgrass and the world-famous 12th at Augusta National Golf Club.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-45303\" class=\"wp-image-45303\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Will-Zalatoris-12th-Augusta.jpeg\" alt=\"\" width=\"739\" height=\"493\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-45303\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Will Zalatoris hits his tee shot into the 12th hole during the final round of the Masters \u2013 JD Cuban<\/p>\n<p>Kapur, now based in Dubai, graduated from Purdue University before turning professional in 2004. Over the course of his career, he claimed seven professional victories across the Asian Tour, HotelPlanner Tour and the PGTI between 2005 and 2021. One of the highlights of his career came at the 2014 U.S. Open, where he made the cut and finished tied for 23rd \u2014 his best finish in a major championship.<\/p>\n<p>Speaking about the vision behind Emgee Greens, Kapur said:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t think India has seen anything like this. The whole idea of the design is to bring the greatest par 3\u2019s from around the world into one specific geographic location and bring India its first par-3 golf course.\u201d<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" aria-describedby=\"caption-attachment-54521\" class=\"size-full wp-image-54521\" src=\"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/05\/Shiv-Kapur-1.jpg\" alt=\"\" width=\"740\" height=\"500\"  \/><\/p>\n<p id=\"caption-attachment-54521\" class=\"wp-caption-text\">Asian Tour<\/p>\n<p>\u201cGolf is learned backwards \u2014 you chip and putt first, then you learn how to drive the ball \u2014 so I think we are onto something there.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Himalayas Golf, known for designing and building sustainable facilities that deliver authentic golf experiences in innovative environments, described the project as \u201cThe World\u2019s Greatest Par 3s. All in One Place.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe\u2019re working hard on a new Par-3 course in partnership with one of India\u2019s most decorated golfers, Shiv Kapur, in the beautiful mountainous area of Lonavala, India \u2014 just outside Mumbai.
