Simone Callahan has shared a touching tribute late to her ex-husband and cricket legend Shane Warne in a birthday post for their son Jackson.\u00a0<\/p>\n
The celebrated cricket icon died in March 2022 while holidaying at a villa on the Thai island of Koh Samui.<\/p>\n
He left behind three children, whom he shared with his ex-wife Callahan.<\/p>\n
Callahan posted a heartfelt birthday tribute to Jackson Warne as he celebrated his 27th birthday, including a touching message that “Dad is shining down on you”.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Happy 27th Birthday Jackson. I love and admire watching you grow into the man you are today. Keep Dreaming big.”<\/p>\n
“I know Dad is shining down on you. He would be super proud. Love you Freddy.”<\/p>\n
The caption accompanied a montage of images from throughout Jackson’s life, many of which featured his late father.\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n
Callahan has made the gesture a tradition for her children’s birthdays, regularly paying tribute to her former husband, with whom she shared an 18-year relationship with and was married to for 10 years.<\/p>\n
Last year, she wished her and Warne’s daughter Summer a happy birthday, writing: “Dad would be so proud, his baby girl. The Favourite,” alongside a similar montage.<\/p>\n
In another post during a holiday to Puerto Ban\u00fas in Spain, Callahan shared images from what she described as her and Warne’s go-to destination for many years.<\/p>\n
“So lovely being back with Brookie, Jackson and Kiah,” Callahan wrote alongside a montage of videos, some including her then-husband Shane Warne by the pool with their three young kids.<\/p>\n
“Such a beautiful town in southern Spain. So much love for this wonderfully friendly country. Joyful times, great memories.”<\/p>\n
In another post, Callahan shared images of Warne with his three kids, captioned: “Shane\u2019s greatest love. Our children Brooke, Jackson and Summer.”<\/p>\n
“Shane was taken too soon from their young lives,” she wrote.<\/p>\n
“Eternal love remains & will never leave. Vale Shane.”<\/p>\n
The couple divorced in 2005 and briefly rekindled their relationship twice before their final split in 2010.<\/p>\n
Warne announced the separation in December 2010 amid reports of an alleged affair with British actress Liz Hurley, whom he dated for about three years.\u00a0<\/p>\n
“Sadly and unfortunately Simone and I split up a while ago. Our close friends and family were informed at that time,” Warne said in a statement posted to his website.<\/p>\n
“It is a private matter so we did not make it public.
