The Kansas City Chiefs<\/a> have a Rashee Rice<\/a> problem.<\/p>\n

The young wide receiver was sentenced to 30 days in jail on Tuesday after violating the terms of his probation<\/a> stemming from his role in a car crash two years ago that resulted in injuries to multiple people.<\/p>\n

Now, one has to wonder if Rice is going to face yet another suspension after he was docked six games in 2025<\/a> for the aforementioned issue.<\/p>\n

That would leave the Chiefs in a precarious spot, as they would be heavily reliant on Xavier Worthy<\/a>, who had a disappointing season in 2025, Tyquan Thornton<\/a> and slew of unproven players, including Jalen Royals<\/a> and rookie Cyrus Allen.<\/p>\n

That is a poor situation for a team like the Chiefs that is looking to bounce back, and it’s even more troublesome if Patrick Mahomes<\/a> isn’t there to save the day early in the season as he might not be ready by Week 1 as he recovers from a torn ACL<\/a>.<\/p>\n

NFL insider urges Chiefs to trade for A.J. Brown<\/a><\/p>\n

Sports Illustrated’s Albert Breer thinks the Chiefs should at least consider trading<\/a> for Philadelphia Eagles<\/a> wide receiver A.J. Brown.<\/p>\n

“And of course the smaller picture questions of what the Chiefs do at receiver now. Do they go back? Do they circle back and maybe look at the idea of trading for A.J. Brown? I don’t think that happens,” Breer said.<\/p>\n

“They had that opportunity. They were on A.J. Brown’s list,” Breer added. “They said no to the Eagles in the first place. But I think if you’re the Chiefs, you have to look at all these things going forward because Rashee Rice clearly looks like somebody that you have not been able to rely on.”<\/p>\n

Brown is widely expected to be traded<\/a> to the New England Patriots<\/a> once June 1 rolls around. The reason for that date is Brown’s dead-cap hit will go down for Philadelphia.<\/p>\n

But that also leaves some time for the Chiefs to swoop in and steal Brown, who would instantly elevate Kansas City’s offense to another level.<\/p>\n

If the Chiefs are serious about getting back to the playoffs in 2026, a trade for Brown must be on the table.<\/p>\n
