The Honda Prelude\u00a0was conceived\u00a0as a coupe, and will hopefully forever be a coupe, but how cool would it be if they did a three-door shooting brake version?\u00a0Well,\u00a0we mocked up exactly\u00a0that\u00a0and the results are jaw-dropping.<\/p>\n
Shooting brakes are a niche within a niche in the modern motoring world, but that\u00a0doesn\u2019t\u00a0mean they\u00a0shouldn\u2019t\u00a0exist from time to time, especially at a price point people can\u00a0actually afford.<\/p>\n
At the time of writing, there is just one dedicated shooting brake offered in Australia: the Genesis G70<\/a>\u00a0\u2013 and it sells in such small numbers you\u2019d be hard-pressed to see one on the road.<\/p>\n One model that comes close to the mantra is high-end\u00a0the Porsche Taycan Cross Turismo, while Mercedes-Benz has previously thrown the nameplate around with the five-door versions of its CLA and CLS.<\/p>\n There are no three-door shooting\u00a0brakes however;\u00a0only Ferrari has really played in that sector with its V12 FF and\u00a0GTC4Lusso.<\/p>\n How cool would it\u00a0be then\u00a0for Honda to\u00a0muscle in on the scene and lob a three-door Prelude, especially if it looks as good as our quick AI mock-up!<\/p>\n A three-door Prelude would be unlike anything else on the market and hammer home the coupe\u2019s already unique appeal<\/a> in being an even more practical five-figure GT car.<\/p>\n Honda Australia executives gave mixed responses to the notion of a Prelude Shooting Brake when discussed in passing\u00a0at a recent media event, but we wonder if\u00a0those with doubts\u00a0will change their tune once they see how stunning, unique and thereby appealing such a car would be in the modern landscape.<\/p>\n
