When he isn\u2019t stoking the flames of racial hatred via the deaths of real people<\/a>, Elon Musk enjoys doing the same via pop culture. Last week, he spent his downtime losing in court to fellow tech worm, Sam Altman, by tweeting about Helen Of Troy\u2019s race<\/a> after learning that Christopher Nolan had cast Lupita Nyong\u2019o in the role of the fictional face that launched a thousand ships. He also enjoys endangering the life of his transgender child<\/a>, but that\u2019s all in a day\u2019s work for the wealthiest man on Earth.<\/p>\n

Much like his complaints about The Odyssey, a movie he\u2019s judging sight unseen, he has done the same with The Boys, a show we\u2019re reasonably sure he\u2019s only seen memes of. However, considering the level of media literacy of the extremely loud Boys watcher, he also must\u2019ve been under the impression that the obviously evil and satirical villain of the show, Homelander, was the good guy. So when Homelander swiped a joke from MacGruber<\/a> and begged for his life by offering to suck Butcher\u2019s \u201cfucking dick\u201d and eat his \u201cfucking shit\u201d in the show\u2019s finale, it rankled some of the show\u2019s more fascism-friendly audience. A screenshot of the scene made its way to X, the Everything App, and across the feed of the creator of the Cyber Truck\u2019s very useful \u201cWade Mode,\u201d<\/a> who gave it a one-word review, \u201cPathetic.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

It was perhaps the best review the show could\u2019ve received. If nothing else, having the most tasteless man on Earth dislike your work is something of a reverse backhanded compliment (front-handed insult?). \u00a0Boys creator Eric Kripke certainly thought so and posted the review on his Instagram<\/a>, gloating, \u201cOMG I\u2019ll never have a better review ever.\u201d\u00a0<\/p>\n

Kripke has long enjoyed how attacked and betrayed Nazis have felt about the show\u2019s later seasons, considering the superhero satire was very loudly about how fascism takes root. Of course, their interest in and eventual rejection of the property is also more of a recruitment tool than anything else. If Star Wars is any indication, there are few types of people more vulnerable to radicalization than a disappointed fanboy in search of explanations for why their childhood favorite doesn\u2019t hit like it used to.<\/p>\n
