Stuart Broad could not resist a sly dig at Australia as he discussed the return of Ollie Robinson to the England team.<\/p>\n

The former bowler became a pantomime villain at the Ashes due to his interesting commentary appearances.<\/p>\n

And it appears it is not a role he is ready to give up, as he aimed a garb at the Aussies in his latest assessment of Robinson.<\/p>\n

England have recalled Robinson for their first Test against New Zealand this summer, with the bowler dropped for the entire Ashes series.<\/p>\n

Broad spoke in praise of the 32-year-old, and made a bold claim about what would have happened if he had played down under.<\/p>\n

\u201cI suppose the confusing thing for me is, if he\u2019s good enough to open the bowling (in June) against New Zealand at Lord\u2019s, which he is \u2013 he\u2019s a brilliant bowler \u2013 why was he not at the Ashes?\u201d he said on his For The Love of Cricket podcast.<\/p>\n

\u201dHe\u2019d have bowled Australia out for 30 at the MCG with how much that pitch moved. <\/p>\n

\u201cIt feels like a complete waste to not use him over the winter in Australia if suddenly he\u2019s now available and able to be used at Lord\u2019s.\u201d<\/p>\n

Broad\u2019s latest comments come after he spent a summer ruffling feathers, even labelling the Aussie side which demolished England 4-1 as the \u201cworst since 2010\u201d<\/a>.<\/p>\n

He doubled down on the statement, saying: \u201cDo I regret saying that? No.<\/p>\n

\u201cI did say Australia would have to play very badly and England would have to play very well.<\/p>\n

\u201cDo I think the (Australian) side of 2013-14 man for man was a better side? Yes, probably still. I don\u2019t think individually they are better than any other team since 2010-11, but they\u2019ve been relentless in the pressure they\u2019ve managed to put on England, as have every Australian team since 2010.<\/p>\n

\u201cI don\u2019t disagree with my comment. I just think Australia have been relentless and England have been at 20 per cent of their ability.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngland losing 3-0 by the third Test is not something new.<\/p>\n

\u201cEngland haven\u2019t been good enough ultimately. Australia have been relentless in what they\u2019ve done.
