{"id":687517,"date":"2026-05-22T14:53:10","date_gmt":"2026-05-22T14:53:10","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/687517\/"},"modified":"2026-05-22T14:53:10","modified_gmt":"2026-05-22T14:53:10","slug":"fabio-quartararo-gives-verdict-on-new-yamaha-v4-wing","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/687517\/","title":{"rendered":"Fabio Quartararo gives verdict on new Yamaha V4 wing"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Fabio Quartararo said he had \u201cnothing special\u201d for his Yamaha V4 despite finishing second fastest at Monday\u2019s Catalunya post-race test.<\/p>\n<p>The main item on the Frenchman\u2019s agenda was evaluating a revised front wing that combined elements of Yamaha\u2019s original 2026 design with last year\u2019s older \u201ctri-plane\u201d specification.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.crash.net\/motogp\/racer\/911998\/fabio-quartararo\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Quartararo<\/a> has reverted to the older wing, from the Inline machine, since the previous Jerez test, after struggling for front-end feeling in the early rounds.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe tested a front wing and some settings. And that&#8217;s it. Nothing really special, also some electronics,\u201d said Quartararo.<\/p>\n<p>The latest wing is: \u201cMore like the triplane one. So this is why I wanted to test it. So when the track has a lot of grip, it&#8217;s good, but also the top speed is weak.
