George Russell has taken pole position for the sprint race at the Canadian Grand Prix, besting Kimi Antonelli to the top spot.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
While it was the championship leading-Antonelli who entered the session in top form, it was his team-mate Russell who jumped to the head of the pack on Saturday afternoon.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Most of the drivers managed to improve their lap times on the second time of asking, with both Mercedes’ stretching out a large gap over the competition.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Lando Norris was third, leading McLaren team-mate Oscar Piastri, while the Ferrari duo of Lewis Hamilton and Charles Leclerc were fifth and sixth, respectively.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
Two cars failed to take part in the session – Liam Lawson and Alex Albon, due to damage inflicted on their cars during practice.\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n
