Yankees star Aaron Judge went 0 for 4 with a game-ending flyout to the centre-field warning track with a man on and is in 1-for-24 slide that dropped his average to .245. Judge has gone a career-high 11 games without any RBIs.<\/p>\n

Cristopher S\u00e1nchez and Williams matched up in a classic pitchers\u2019 duel where each tossed eight shutout innings in front of 38,092 fans on a rainy night. They were the first opposing starters to each pitch at least eight scoreless innings since Miami\u2019s Ryan Weathers and Detroit\u2019s Reese Olson on May 14, 2024.<\/p>\n
Manzardo made Williams (7-3) a winner when the left-handed hitter launched a homer the opposite way to left off Duran (1-2).<\/p>\n
S\u00e1nchez tossed four-hit ball over eight innings and struck out six. He threw 96 pitches and lowered his ERA to a staggering 1.62 on the season.<\/p>\n
Coming off his first shutout of the season, S\u00e1nchez ran his scoreless streak to 37 2\/3 innings, which moved him past Cliff Lee (34 innings) into second place and within striking distance of the franchise record for consecutive scoreless innings. Grover Alexander tossed 41 straight innings in one stretch in the 1911 season.<\/p>\n

BOSTON \u2014 Byron Buxton and Austin Martin both hit two-run homers off reliever Justin Slaten in the seventh inning to help Minnesota rally from four runs down to beat Boston.<\/p>\n

Pittsburgh had two more runners in the eighth before Toronto manager John Schneider called on closer Louis Varland for a rare six-out save. Giants right-hander Trevor McDonald (2-1) retired the first nine Chicago hitters in order then didn’t make it out of the fourth. The nine runs allowed by the Giants in the fourth were their most in any inning since surrendering nine to the Athletics in the fifth inning on Aug. 16, 2020.<\/p>\n
Martin (7-1) struck out seven and walked two over 5 2\/3 innings, allowing four runs on six hits. He is 11-2 over his 19 outings since Aug. 10 last year while allowing three earned runs or fewer 18 of those appearances until Friday. PHOENIX \u2014 Chad Stevens hit a go-ahead single in the ninth inning after T.J. Rumfield’s RBI double in the eighth tied it and the Colorado Rockies rallied past the Arizona Diamondbacks for a 3-2 win on Friday night.<\/p>\n
It was the first hit of the season for Stevens, who was called up from Triple-A Albuquerque on Thursday. The 27-year-old connected off Ryan Thompson (2-1), lofting a single into shallow right field that scored fellow rookie Sterlin Thompson, who started the rally with a double.<\/p>\n
Antonio Senzatela (4-0) pitched 1 2\/3 innings of scoreless relief for the win. The Rockies trailed for much of the game but tied it at 2 in the eighth on Rumfield\u2019s double down the right-field line off Juan Morillo.<\/p>\n
The D-backs had their season-high five-game winning streak snapped.<\/p>\n
Colorado’s Tomoyuki Sugano had his longest outing of the season, giving up two runs and six hits with a walk through 6 2\/3 innings. The Japanese right-hander struck out three and provided the team’s first quality start since May 1.<\/p>\n

ANAHEIM, Calif. \u2014 Zach Neto homered twice, Wade Meckler and Oswald Peraza also went deep and the Los Angeles Angels pulled away to beat the Texas Rangers 9-6 on Friday night.<\/p>\n
Angels starter Grayson Rodriguez (1-1) gave up four runs and seven hits in 5 2\/3 innings. He struck out five and walked two for his first victory since July 31, 2024.<\/p>\n
Texas trailed 6-4 in the seventh when Angels reliever Brent Suter walked pinch-hitter Andrew McCutcheon with two outs and gave up a single to Josh Jung.<\/p>\n
Angels manager Kurt Suzuki summoned left-hander Tayler Saucedo to face Brandon Nimmo, who drove an RBI double to right-center to make it 6-5, with Jung being thrown out at the plate.<\/p>\n
Peraza\u2019s one-out homer in the seventh pushed the Angels\u2019 lead to 7-5.
