Ducati<\/a> have won all but two Grand Prix in 2025, with Johann Zarco winning for Honda at Le Mans and Marco Bezzecchi taking victory for Aprilia at Silverstone. The Borgo Panigale outfit have only lost four times in the last 43 races; something that will displease Liberty Media<\/a>.<\/p>\n The American company will be looking to grow MotoGP\u2019s<\/a> global audience and replicate the success they have enjoyed with Formula 1. Marquez\u2019s<\/a> dominance, as incredible as it is, given his struggles in the past in injury, have highlighted that changes need to be made.<\/p>\n Liberty must change Sprint races<\/a> moving forward, with the Spaniard only losing one Saturday race in 2025 as his brother Alex took victory at Silverstone. Marquez\u2019s performances have shown another change to the points system is needed.<\/p>\n As journalist Mat Oxley<\/a> pointed out via Motor Sport Magazine<\/a>, MotoGP has a \u2018bizarre\u2019 points system for the constructors\u2019 championship. The five manufacturers are awarded points depending on their highest finishing rider that weekend.<\/p>\n With Ducati winning all but one race in 2024, they won the constructors\u2019 title with a staggering 722, while KTM finished second with 327. For example, at the Argentine GP this season, Ducati collected the maximum 25 points via Marquez, while their closest rival was Johann Zarco for Honda, who grabbed 10 points finishing P6.<\/p>\n Marquez showed exactly why the system needs changing with his title-winning 2019 season, when he single-handedly won Honda the constructors\u2019 title. His nearest teammate was Cal Crutchlow for LCR, who finished almost 300 points behind him in ninth.<\/p>\n Honda would have finished second-bottom of the standings without Marquez\u2019s points, pointing out the flaws of the current system.
