\n\t\t\t\t\tOver the years SBS, government grants, record companies and even crowd-funding have helped get artists onto the Eurovision stage.\t\t\t\t<\/p>\n

SBS pays the required annual participation fee and production costs to broadcast the event but does not cover all expenses for the artist\u2019s performance, requiring outside funding.<\/p>\n
Delta\u2019s tilt at glory was one of 7 artists to share in $700,000 from the International Cultural Diplomacy Arts Fund (ICDAF), which provides funding for unique and diverse Australian talent to showcase their work on a global scale.<\/p>\n
Both PM Anthony Albanese and Minister for the Arts Tony Burke vocally supported Delta\u2019s best efforts in Vienna. <\/p>\n
It\u2019s not the first time entries have qualified for ICDAF funing.<\/p>\n
Electric Fields in 2024 received ICDAF funding, in 2025 Go Jo received a mix of ICDAF and Music Australia funding. <\/p>\n
In 2023, Voyager received funding from the WA Government through the Contemporary Music Fund and Tourism WA.<\/p>\n
While not strictly Government funding, in 2019 Kate Miller-Heidke used the Australian Cultural Fund platform operated by Creative Australia to raise over $60,000 towards the costs of performing. Each dollar raised was matched.<\/p>\n
In 2019 she posted, \u201cI am confident there has never been a performance like this on the Eurovision stage, but the catch for me is, the artist must fund it! Turns out this Eurovision adventure will be quite an expensive one (somewhere north of 5 figures and south of 7).<\/p>\n
\u201cThe Department of Communications and the Arts and Creative Partnerships Australia have very generously agreed to help out with $60,000. This money comes with a caveat similar to the one my Mum gave me at age 11 when I wanted her to buy me a piano \u2013 every dollar I raise will be matched with a dollar by the DCA and CPA, and it needs to be raised from the public (or in the case of my piano, delivering the Westside News around the suburbs of Brisbane).\u201d<\/p>\n
Record companies have also contributed to part funding for some artists.<\/p>\n
During the May 2015 Budget Estimates, SBS indicated Sony Music Australia entirely footed the bill for Guy Sebastian and their direct creative team.<\/p>\n
The European Broadcasting Union explicitly forbids broadcasting networks from publicly disclosing exact broadcast rights and licensing fees.<\/p>\n
