\n\t\t\t\t\t\tThe MLB has made no secret of its desire for a West Coast expansion team. And Sacramento-area leaders have also made no secret of their coming announcement this Thursday for our fight to host our very own Major League Baseball team. We say fight \u2013 because it will be a fight. An MLB team would bring jobs, tourism, investment, and economic impact to any area and several cities are already in the running for this chance. But our region is ready and well positioned to take on this challenge and win. And why shouldn’t we? Gone are the days of the Sacramento area being mostly known as a government town. Yes, we are proud to be the capital of the fourth-largest economy in the world, and we are also proud to live in a city with sports fans, the arts, incredible outdoor activities on land and water, and short drives to some of the most beautiful places in the world. We’re small enough to know your neighbors and big enough to fill stadiums and reach new records of television viewing for our home teams.Our region’s civic pride, proven fan base with the Kings, Republic FC, River Cats and A’s (however temporary), plus amazing summer nights at the ballpark, are just some of the reasons why Major League Baseball is a perfect fit for our region. What’s more, this is a city of loyal fans that keep believing in all the possibilities, and we can’t wait to hear the plans this Thursday.
