The match will serve as the co-main event of UFC BJJ 9 at the Meta APEX.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">Burns announced his retirement from MMA earlier this month after losing by knockout to Mike Malott in Canada, leaving the sport on a five-fight losing skid and an overall UFC record of 15-10.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">\u201cDurinho\u201d has a very successful career in jiu-jitsu before focusing fully in MMA, winning the IBJJF world title in 2011 and defeating champions like Kron Gracie, Leandro Lo, and Celso Venicius.<\/p>\n<p class=\"duet--article--dangerously-set-cms-markup duet--article--standard-paragraph _1nfb3k4i _16w9vov1 _16w9vov0 ls9zuh1\">UFC BJJ 9 will be topped by Mason Fowler, defending his light heavyweight belt against 2021 IBJJF no-gi world champion Devhonte Johnson.
