The legendary NRL career of Roger Tuivasa-Sheck is over after the former Dally M Medal winner confirmed on Instagram that he suffered a season-ending ACL injury.

Tuivasa-Sheck, 32, will leave the Warriors at the end of the year to join Super League side Wakefield Trinity for the next two seasons.

It’s a brutal way for his NRL career to end, with Tuivasa-Sheck achieving so much and inspiring so many youngsters with his incredible footwork that led to countless YouTube compilations of him making defenders looks silly with his sizzling steps.

Tuivasa-Sheck spent the first four seasons of his career at the Roosters where he won a title in his second year playing on the wing.

He eventually moved to the Warriors in 2016 in what was one of the biggest signings in the club’s history, with Tuivasa-Sheck winning the Dally M in 2018 when fellow New Zealand players performed the Haka for him.

He won the Golden Boot the following year before a short stint in rugby, with the Kiwis and Samoa star returning to the Warriors in 2024.

While he’s slowed down slightly over the years, his passion has never waned, with the veteran a key part of their rise under coach Andrew Webster.

But he won’t be there for their premiership push after he suffered the devastating knee injury just 11 minutes into his 242nd and final NRL appearance.

“That’s my footy for the year. ACL confirmed,” he posted on social media.

“Tough to accept but the season goes on. We got something special going. Big love for all the messages.”

Past and present NRL stars paid tribute in the comments, with Stephen Crichton and Shaun Johnson just some of the players to send their best to one of the modern greats of the game.
