During an extensive interview with The Diary of a CEO, Fernandes was asked about Keane\u2019s comments.<\/p>\n
The Man Utd midfielder said: \u201cLike I\u2019ve always said, I don\u2019t mind criticism. I\u2019ve always taken criticism from everyone and anyone and I never reply to anything or whatsoever.<\/p>\n
\u201cPeople have an opinion; they think it\u2019s good, bad, whatever.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhat I don\u2019t like is when people lie about things and [in] this case that you said about Roy Keane basically what he said is a lie because\u2026 either he saw some other interview or he can\u2019t say that I said one thing that I\u2019ve just not said and luckily for me is everything on record.<\/p>\n
\u201cI accept his criticism, I accept that he might like me as a player or not, like me as a person or not.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut what I don\u2019t like is that he puts words in my mouth that have not been said. That\u2019s the only thing I don\u2019t like.\u201d<\/p>\n
Fernandes added: \u201cObviously, I think I\u2019ve always showed a lot of respect for Roy Keane and for everything he\u2019s done for the club and for everything he\u2019s always said.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019ve never ever had something to say, I\u2019ve never said something wrong.<\/p>\n
\u201cI even asked Ole his number to text him to be honest, to have a word with him to say that I don\u2019t mind the criticism [but] I don\u2019t like when people lie about things that I say.<\/p>\n
\u201cBecause this is like\u2026 it goes a little bit over the top of the things that I think are acceptable.<\/p>\n
\u201cI accept criticism. I accept that he can say things that I don\u2019t like and I don\u2019t like to see it.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut as I said before, that improves me. What I don\u2019t like is that people make their own words on what I say and it\u2019s not true.<\/p>\n
\u201cObviously, I prefer Roy Keane to give me some praise sometimes because I\u2019ve achieved something that not many players have achieved.<\/p>\n
\u201cI understand that this club is about winning trophies and I have never taken that off my mind.\u201d<\/p>\n

Just hours after Fernandes revealed his opinion on Keane\u2019s comments, the Sky Sports pundit made a cryptic post on Instagram.<\/p>\n
The former Republic of Ireland international posted a drawing of a braying donkey, with the caption \u201cToo much attention makes a donkey think he\u2019s a lion\u201d.<\/p>\n
