Melbourne Storm centre Marion Seve knows the power of joy and positivity in the healing \u2013 and happiness \u2013 journey of sick children.<\/p>\n
Seve felt that support first-hand when, as a 17-year-old facing cancer, the Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation crew regularly visited him in hospital to bring smiles, support and fun.<\/p>\n
Seve returned the favour on Monday. He visited the Royal Children\u2019s Hospital to show his love for Starlight and the kids it supports.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt brings back many memories, but in a good way,\u201d Seve said. <\/p>\n
\u201cStarlight was very helpful during my time in hospital. They would always come and visit.\u201d<\/p>\n
Starlight gifted him an Xbox.<\/p>\n
Seve was diagnosed with testicular cancer in 2012. After treatment, including chemotherapy, he received a cancer all-clear two years later.<\/p>\n
\u201cWhen you\u2019re a teenager, you\u2019re stubborn and think you can get through anything, That was my mindset,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
He added: \u201cPhysically, it was tough. I found ways to stay busy, especially mentally. I would keep my mind off the difficult things I was going through.\u201d<\/p>\n
His visit marked the Storm\u2019s 10-year partnership with the Starlight Children\u2019s Foundation.<\/p>\n
The Storm will also play the Sydney Roosters in the Starlight Round at AAMI Park this Saturday.<\/p>\n
