On 26 May 1994, the team managed by <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realmadrid.com\/en-US\/the-club\/history\/basketball-legends\/clifford-luyk\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Clifford Luyk<\/a> were crowned champions after beating Barcelona in the final. In that best-of-five series, only three games were needed, as the Madrid side clinched the title in quick succession by winning the first two at home (81-67 and 79-69) and the next one away (64-77). In this way, our team secured its second consecutive league title.<\/p>\n<p>During the regular season, Real Madrid finished top of the table with a record of 24 wins and 4 defeats. In the play-offs, they knocked out Breog\u00e1n in the round of 16, Manresa in the quarter-finals and Estudiantes in the semi-finals, before facing Barcelona in the final. <a href=\"https:\/\/www.realmadrid.com\/en-US\/the-club\/history\/basketball-legends\/arvydas-romas-sabonis\" rel=\"nofollow noopener\" target=\"_blank\">Arvydas Sabonis<\/a> was the standout player that season, being named both the season\u2019s MVP and the MVP of the final.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"It is 32 years since Real Madrid won their 27th La Liga title.
