<\/p>\nJesse Hutch Screen Tested For Superman Returns<\/p>\n
Before mentioning Batman and Wolverine, Hutch revealed he came close to playing Superman.<\/p>\n
In the video, Hutch says a screen test means an actor is \u201creally, really, really, really close,\u201d adding it usually means the role is down to only a couple of people.<\/p>\n
Hutch then revealed the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn this case, I auditioned for Superman in 2005 for Superman Returns,\u201d he says. \u201cAnd I was that close.\u201d<\/p>\n
He also said he had to speak with Bryan Singer by phone before filming the audition.<\/p>\n
\u201cI had to call Bryan Singer on the phone,\u201d Hutch says, explaining Singer \u201cled me through what he needed.\u201d<\/p>\n
Hutch also wrote that he hadn\u2019t heard anything about the audition for over six months and thought Matt Damon had booked the role.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn fact, I heard Matt Damon booked it,\u201d Hutch wrote, tagging Damon and asking, \u201cis that true?\u201d<\/p>\n
The role ultimately went to Brandon Routh, who played Superman and Clark Kent in the 2006 movie.<\/p>\n
