Andrew Keegan is sharing details of his unreliable residual checks from movies and TV shows.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think it\u2019s really funny because I\u2019ll get different shows obviously, but I\u2019ll get one cent checks and it costs like 40 cents to send,\u201d the actor, now 47, said during a recent episode of The McBride Rewind, adding, \u201cOne cent is not worth my time.\u201d<\/p>\n
Keegan is best known for his role in 1999 rom-com 10 Things I Hate About You opposite Heath Ledger and Julia Stiles.<\/p>\n
He noted that he\u2019s probably seen the highest amount in residuals from the iconic teen comedy.<\/p>\n
\u201cI think \u201910 Things\u2019 is the biggest residuals,\u201d he divulged. \u201cThere are still residuals that come from all those shows, like $10, $20, $50, $80, right?\u201d<\/p>\n
At the height of his fame, Keegan appeared in a number of high profile TV series and movies.<\/p>\n
He appeared on 7th Heaven from 1997 to 2002, as well as Party of Five from 1997 to 1998. In more recent years, he appeared in CSI: New York in 2010 and Related from 2005 to 2006.<\/p>\n
Keegan also had roles in Independence Day (1996) and The Broken Hearts Club (2000), among many others.<\/p>\n
Celebrity residuals can indeed be unpredictable \u2014 while some stars haven\u2019t pulled in much due to various factors, others boast millions.<\/p>\n
Forbes revealed back in 2013 that Ray Romano rakes in $18 million per year for his sitcom Everybody Loves Raymond, which ran from 1996 to 2005.<\/p>\n
But a number of celebrities have more recently shared their shocking residuals stories, divulging they don\u2019t earn much at all for their past work on various memorable TV shows.<\/p>\n
Who\u2019s the Boss alum Danny Pintauro, now 50, shared insight on why he now works as an Amazon Flex delivery driver in between acting auditions.<\/p>\n
\u201cPretty much everyone misunderstands what residuals mean,\u201d he said during an interview with Fox News earlier this month.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s crazy to me. People always assume that if they recognise you, you must be financially set for your life, and that\u2019s just not how it works.\u201d<\/p>\n
Pintauro explained that he\u2019s \u201cgetting five to six cents per episode,\u201d of the 1984 to 1992 sitcom, adding that \u201cthey can air it as many times as they want and I don\u2019t get paid anymore.\u201d<\/p>\n
Jodie Sweetin of Full House, meanwhile, shared last month on the McBride Rewind that she \u201cgot a one-cent check the other day.\u201d<\/p>\n
Sweetin, 44, added, \u201cThere\u2019s no syndication anymore because it\u2019s all in streaming. Who gets paid for that? Nobody gets paid for that.\u201d<\/p>\n
And Brady Bunch star Eve Plum, 68, wrote in her newly released memoir Happiness Included: Jan Brady and Beyond that if she \u201chad a dime for every rerun episode of the \u201970s hit, I\u2019d pay off the national deficit. I don\u2019t.\u201d<\/p>\n
Lisa Kudrow, however \u2014 whose mega-hit Friends ran from 1994 to 2004 \u2014 continues to receive handsome amounts in residuals.<\/p>\n
The actress, 62, told the Times of London last month that she and her famous co-stars from the NBC comedy still make $20 million per year in residuals.<\/p>\n
