The Texas Rangers<\/a> responded perfectly after finding themselves on the wrong side of a no-hitter.<\/p>\n

The Rangers<\/a>, after the Houston Astros completed a combined no-hitter against them<\/a> on Monday, erupted at the start of Tuesday\u2019s contest. The Rangers scored eight runs in the first inning of the game at Globe Life Field.\u00a0That was more than enough to lead them to a 10-7 win.<\/p>\n

According to Elias<\/a>, the Rangers are the first team in more than 120 years to score eight or more runs in the first inning following a game in which they were no-hit. The last team to pull that off was the 1905 Chicago White Sox<\/a>.<\/p>\n

The Rangers ran up the score immediately Tuesday. Jake Burger<\/a> hit a two-run single to center to get things started. Evan Carter<\/a> then hit a two-run triple, and Ezequiel Duran<\/a> hit him in with a double.<\/p>\n

Finally, Joc Pederson<\/a> cleared the bases with a deep shot to right field. That was his fourth home run of the season, and it gave the Rangers an 8-0 lead.<\/p>\n

In total, Astros starter Jason Alexander gave up six hits and nine runs before he was pulled after the sixth inning.<\/p>\n

The Astros narrowed the gap late, thanks to a pair of runs in the eighth and a solo home run from Jeremy Pe\u00f1a<\/a> in the ninth, but the comeback attempt started too late. The opening inning was too much for them to overcome.<\/p>\n

That all came after Tatsuya Imai led the Astros on a three-pitcher combined no-hitter<\/a> on Monday. Imai pitched six no-hit innings in a 9-0 win. Steven Okert<\/a> and Alimber Santa<\/a> came in for three innings of relief to complete the no-hitter, which was the first in Major League Baseball since September 2024.<\/p>\n

The Rangers\u2019 win Tuesday snapped a four-game losing streak and brought them to 25-29 on the season. While they are still third in the AL West, the no-hitter is clearly behind them.
