According to the Fair Healthcare Alliance, Bupa ranks second in the list of Australian health insurers by market share, sitting at 24.9%, second only to Medibank at 27.1%.

The integrated campaign will roll out progressively and nationally this year across TV, digital, social, out-of-home, owned channels and retail.

The TV creative is made up of three distinct and comical films. The first spot features a man in Heelys — sneakers with an in-built wheel — gliding through the streets to Five’s 1999 track Keep on Movin’.

A second shows a man posing for headshots with a less-than-impressed photographer, undercut by the line: “You’ll be smiling, even when you shouldn’t.”

The final centres on a glasses-wearing woman admiring herself in a shop window, as a stunned young boy stares at her through it.

The light-hearted messaging reflects the campaigns overarching strategy: to recognise the effort Australians are already putting into their health, and reframe Bupa as an active supporter across all aspects of that journey.

General manager of brand marketing at Bupa, Naomi Driver said in the press release that the platform reflects a contemporary and connected outlook on health.

“Health isn’t one-dimensional, and neither are our customers. Australians are juggling physical health, mental wellbeing, family care, prevention, recovery and everyday habits, often all at once,” Driver said.

“A lot of health advertising focuses on moments of crisis or idealised outcomes”: Bupa takes a more playful approach.

“‘Everything for Health’ recognises the effort people are already putting into their health and reinforces Bupa’s role in supporting them across every stage and every aspect of that journey.”

Tim Evans, founder of 2045, said the platform was designed to bring together the full Bupa ecosystem while maintaining a human focus.

“A lot of health advertising focuses on moments of crisis or idealised outcomes.
