Former F1 driver Logan Sargeant will make his return to racing in September, having signed up to race in the final two rounds of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.<\/p>\n
Sargeant will race in the LMP2 class for PR1\/Mathiasen Motorsports’ and will have his outings at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and Road Atlanta.<\/p>\n
The American driver departed the F1 grid midway through the 2024 campaign amid a series of disappointing performances.<\/p>\n
He was promoted to F1 by Williams from its driver academy the year before, scoring a best result of 10th at the US Grand Prix.<\/p>\n
Sargeant was on track to join the Hypercar class in the World Endurance Championship this year, but the deal broke down.<\/p>\n
Now, however, the 24-year-old has secured his return to racing, sharing his LMP2 car with team-mates Benjamin Pedersen and Naveen Rao.<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m super excited to be jumping back into a car for the last two LMP2 races in IMSA with PR1\/Mathiasen Motorsports,\u201d he said.\u00a0<\/p>\n
\u201cIt\u2019s a great opportunity to drive at two special tracks, Indianapolis and Road Atlanta, and help push for good results with my teammates Ben and Naveen.<\/p>\n
