Acting Inspector Andrew Sweeney said the incident was a “targeted attack”, but the victim had no criminal links and appeared to be “an innocent party”.

“The inquiries we’ve made is she’s not known to these males, but that will be part of the ongoing investigation,” he said.

He said police would also examine whether her tyre was tampered with prior to the attack.

“The actions of the members of the public should be commended,” he said.

“Their bravery and involvement in this incident potentially prevented the incident from escalating further.”

An attempted kidnapping of a woman at knife-point, as she changed her tyre in Sydney’s south-west, is being…

[2
45387,24278,297407,2025,48,43,1613,44,2733,4277,670,61579,41,39,42,40
post-698213","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","category-headlines","tag-arrest","tag-assault","tag-attempted-kidnapping","tag-charges","tag-crime","tag-headlines","tag-liverpool","tag-news","tag-nsw","tag-nsw-police","tag-sydney","tag-sydney-south-west","tag-top-news","tag-top-stories","tag-topnews","tag-topstories
["GET
