{"id":699043,"date":"2026-05-28T01:45:12","date_gmt":"2026-05-28T01:45:12","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/699043\/"},"modified":"2026-05-28T01:45:12","modified_gmt":"2026-05-28T01:45:12","slug":"new-nfl-rumors-reveal-potential-host-for-2029-draft-after-vikings-awarded-2028-event","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.newsbeep.com\/au\/699043\/","title":{"rendered":"New NFL Rumors Reveal Potential Host for 2029 Draft After Vikings Awarded 2028 Event"},"content":{"rendered":"<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The potential location of the 2029 NFL draft is reportedly gaining some clarity. <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Cincinnati Bengals and the Cincinnati Regional Sports Commission have been engaged in ongoing conversations with the NFL to host the 2029 draft, according to <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.cincinnati.com\/story\/sports\/nfl\/2026\/05\/26\/cincinnati-nfl-draft-bid-host-city-2029\/90219147007\/?gnt-cfr=1&amp;gca-cat=p&amp;gca-uir=false&amp;gca-epti=z11xx37p118550l002450c118550u114137e1187xxv11xx37&amp;gca-ft=45&amp;gca-ds=sophi\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Sydney Franklin and Scott Wartman<\/a> of the Cincinnati Enquirer (h\/t <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.nbcsports.com\/nfl\/profootballtalk\/rumor-mill\/news\/bengals-are-in-ongoing-conversation-with-nfl-to-host-2029-draft\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Mike Florio<\/a> of Pro Football Talk). <\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The 2028 draft was <a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/bleacherreport.com\/articles\/25429051-2028-nfl-draft-awarded-vikings-minnesota-host-after-approval-nfl-owners\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">officially awarded<\/a> to the Minnesota Vikings on May 19.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Meanwhile, the 2027 draft will be hosted by Washington, D.C.\u00a0after Pittsburgh hosted the 2026 event.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">As for the Bengals,\u00a0Sports Business Journal&#8217;s\u00a0<a class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-inherit MuiLink-root MuiLink-underlineAlways MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__ui__link__medium_strong css-lu48cp\" href=\"https:\/\/www.sportsbusinessjournal.com\/Articles\/2026\/04\/30\/minnesota-favored-to-win-2028-draft-insiders-say\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer nofollow\">Ben Fischer<\/a>\u00a0previously reported that Cincinnati &#8220;has the inside track&#8221; to host the 2029 draft.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Ten teams sent representatives that met with NFL commissioner\u00a0Roger Goodell to learn and develop their own hopes of hosting the draft in the future during the 2026 draft, as the Bengals were among those organizations (via Fischer).<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Cincinnati has currently submitted a letter of interest to host the draft despite not submitting a formal bid at this point, per Franklin and Wartman.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">The Bengals have yet to hold the draft at home since it started traveling to different cities in 2015. It was previously hosted by New York City for 50 straight years.<\/p>\n<p class=\"MuiTypography-root MuiTypography-bp_small__body__article__medium css-1vqr2el\">Cincinnati is coming off a 2025 campaign in which it missed the playoffs with a 6-11 record, but is looking to return to the postseason led by stars such as Joe Burrow and Ja&#8217;Marr Chase.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"The potential location of the 2029 NFL draft is reportedly gaining some clarity.
