And the price is right!
On Thursday, Lazer launched Blade KinetiCore. It’s a helmet aimed at cyclists who split their time between asphalt and gravel. (Don’t we all?)

The new helmet is good for mixed riding, combining a road-focused shape with features intended to handle rougher surfaces. And those longer rides where you might just mix it up.

The helmet uses a dual-shell construction with a visible line where the two sections meet. Lazer says this gives the helmet a streamlined road profile while adding structural definition suited to more adventurous riding. That means long rides with pavement…and un-paved.

The overall shape remains compact. There’s also a focus on airflow and reduced bulk. Lightweight, good ventilation FTW.

The Kineticore core.
Lazer Blade Kineticore: The deets

Inside, the Blade KinetiCore uses dense internal padding designed for sustained comfort over long rides. Fit is managed through Lazer’s Advanced TurnSys system, which allows both horizontal and vertical adjustment. A revised strap divider helps keep straps aligned once set, while an integrated eyewear docking system provides a place to secure glasses when not in use.

I am about as excited as I look after trying to shove glasses into the Blade.

That docking system may work better with some frame shapes than other, and was our only real complaint with the Blade helmet. I tried a few different ways and, while there’s probably an official way that works best, it was hard to find while riding.

Lazer uses a full wrap of the hard outter shell, like on its mountain bike helmets, for when this lid touches the ground.

KinetiCore, Lazer’s proprietary rotational impact protection system, is built directly into the helmet’s structure rather than added as a separate liner. The company says this approach creates internal crumple zones designed to redirect impact forces away from the head, while also reducing material use. The result is a lighter helmet with improved ventilation compared to earlier designs using external inserts.
At the rear, the helmet is compatible with Lazer’s Universal LED, which attaches via a built-in mount to improve visibility in low-light conditions.

Lazer includes a LED mount in with the fit dial to make the Blade functional every day as it fast on race weekends
Pricing and availability: Lazer Blade Kineticore

The Blade KinetiCore weighs 250g in a medium size and comes in S, M and L.

There are a bunch of colour options. You can pick from Flash Orange, Matte Black, Matte Clay, Matte Cobalt Blue, Matte Deep Grey, Matte Sage Green and White. The Matte Sage Green we’ve been riding in is on the more casual side, even a bit naturey so you can lean into the gravel vibes a bit more.

The new helmet comes in at a very reasonable $160 (USD 100), which is great for a quality performance-meets-casual helmet, will be available through Lazer’s website and retailers globally.

If you’re looking to upgrade your helmet game for 2026, here’s a solid choice.
