A family-owned bottle shop in North Fremantle is taking its cellar experience on tour after facing major disruptions since the traffic bridge closed earlier this year.<\/p>\n

Old Bridge Cellars is partnering with hospitality group Sneakers & Jeans to launch a new dining series that will take their award-winning signature wines around Perth.<\/p>\n

Owner Jay Beeson said they had to get creative after a downturn in customers.<\/p>\n

\u201cThe bridge closure is having an impact, foot traffic is down around 30 per cent but we anticipated this and developed contingency plans early,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201dOld Bridge Cellars on Tour is something we\u2019ve wanted to do for a long time but never really had the capacity for. Ironically, the bridge closure created the space to finally make it happen.\u201d<\/p>\n

Underground whisky bar Varnish on King will host the first event<\/a> of the tour on June 17, pairing unique American wines with a curated four course menu from head chef Mariana Hoff.<\/p>\n

Many of the wines will be making their Australian debut at the event, including the Bonny Doon \u2018Picpoul\u2019 Vermentino 2024 and the Lapis Luna Chardonnay 2024.<\/p>\n

Pirate Life Perth will take up the mantle on August 12 with an Italian-inspired dinner spotlighting regional wines and share-style dishes, led by head chef Sofie Firman.<\/p>\n

Mr Beeson said the tour will be a great opportunity to connect with the hospitality industry and represent Fremantle\u2019s offerings.<\/p>\n

\u201cWe\u2019re connection creatures by nature, so we\u2019re excited to get out there and collaborate with great venues, meet new people and proudly fly the Fremantle flag in the process,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

Sneakers & Jeans general manager Lachlan Howarth said the hospitality industry needs to support each other through challenges, such as the bridge closure.<\/p>\n

\u201cWhen a member of our community is going through a tough time and there\u2019s something we can do to support, then we\u2019re all in,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n

\u201cThese events are much more than a wine dinner, they\u2019re about the hospitality industry showing up for its own and doing it the best way we know how – sharing great food and a few good bottles with friends.<\/p>\n
